In 2013, Brittany and Mallory met while working as nurses in the medical intensive care unit. The two New Orleans natives quickly bonded over their similar interests and work ethics. This friendship soon evolved into a shared vision—to advance their careers and become Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).

In 2016, both were accepted into the same cohort of Louisiana State University’s Nurse Anesthesia Program, marking the beginning of their journey. While eager to pursue their dream, they were soon faced with the financial challenges of graduate education—balancing tuition costs alongside expenses for clinical travel, textbooks, and anesthesia equipment. The rigorous demands of the program limited their ability to work, making the financial strain even more evident.

In 2019, Brittany and Mallory earned their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees with a specialization in Nurse Anesthesia. After graduation, they joined a teaching facility where they mentored student nurse anesthetists on an almost daily basis. Hearing students’ struggles and reflecting on their own journey reignited their desire to support the next generation. Motivated by compassion and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by SRNAs, Brittany and Mallory founded Neaux La Made—a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering student nurse anesthetists.
